The next time you go out for lunch/dinner, you might want to give Mare Nostrum, Umaran, 56, a try. (A short walk from the Jardin.) The food (Italian) is very good - always! Their pasta is home made daily. You should also try the thin crust pizza - this is good stuff, folks. Brenda and Giulio are the owners/operators. Guilio is from Sardinia and is the chef. Brenda is from San Miguel and is the manager.

Hours: 1 PM until 10 PM, closed Tuesdays.

"My family & some friends met them for the first time last week and were pleasantly blown away by this most unusual and delicious spot. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp salad, prepared in a most unusual fashion that we all loved. The assortment of homemade raviolis--wild mushroom, duck and spinach, prosciutto, pine nuts and cheese--caused us all to applaud the chef.

For desserts we tried a fried puff pastry stuffed with cheese and smothered with warm honey and a tiramasu that caused more applause and a proclamation that it should be called "Better-than-Sex Tiramasu." It was that good!!"
