In March of 2010, Nirvana Restaurant formerly located at Mesones 101 in San Miguel de Allende's Centro, moved to an eighteen acre ranch near San Miguel, in Atotonilco, a Unesco World Heritage site. Now Nirvana is a restaurant as well as a country retreat. The new facilities are on the banks of the Laja River and very beautiful.

"We've never writen a review before, but we keep a running list of our favorite hotels in the world and having just returned from Nirvana, we are anxious to add it to the list. We had some of the best food we have had in Mexico, over many trips and many years. The grounds are incredible and the rooms could not be more romantic. Finally, the staff! Wow!! They were kind and professional and made us feel special. We also loved the treatments (massages and a pedicure). Thank you Juan Carlos and we hope to be back soon!"
